Wiki, Wiki
I am still trying to figure out how I could use a wiki or blog in my kindergarten classroom. I was thinking that towards the end of the year my class could create a blog or wiki. I could have the entire class design it together. I was thinking the kids with the help of their parents could blog about first grade, what they think first grade will be like, their fears, what they are excited about etc. Any other suggestions ? I did like my idea about having them create wiki's where they can talk about their summer. I think that may work better than a blog. We could create a wiki for each child during those last few weeks of school in June. That way they could keep in touch all summer!

Hey..maybe we could do this together. First I have to figure out the wiki issues and then we could team up first grades and kindergarteners to blog about first grade experiences. It could work!
ReplyDeleteI like you idea about using a wiki in the summer. what a great way to keep in touch! They would love to be informed of what their classmates were up to. Maybe you could work something out with the first grade teachers where they could share their experience at the beginning of first grade. You could also have them write about what they learned in Kindergarten also.

I was thinking the same exact thing for my first graders except they could blog about their experience in first grade (at the end of the year) so kindergartners could read how much fun they would have and what they would be learning. We could also read your blogs and comment on them to lessen their fears and worries.
